Fried Raviolis

FRIED RAVIOLI'S

This is by far one of my favorite recipes. I don't like the time it takes to prepare it, but I LOVE to eat it, and I could eat it every single day. I got the concept from an old room-mate of mine (thanks Syl!) and I've seen similar ones on the Food Network, and The Olive Garden serves this as an appetizer (only a meat version, and I tell ya, the cheese version is better!)

Simple enough to do:
  • frozen cheese ravioli's
  • italian bread crumbs
  • oil (for frying)
  • eggs
  • marinara sauce
Create an assembly line of sorts. Eggs mixed up with a dash of milk, breadcrumbs, and a plate to hold ravioli's waiting to be fried. Dip each ravioli in the egg wash, then bread crumbs.

Heat your oil up to about 350-375degs. Fry your ravioli's on each side until brown and crispy. Toasty looking, not burnt looking :)

To serve as an appetizer, you can keep these warm on a baking rack in a warm oven. We usually do this as a main course (although, not anymore because of K-girl's milk allergy), by putting a small amount of sauce in the bottom of a baking pan. Then stack the ravioli's up in the pan. Bake them for about 15 minutes, then cover with some more sauce for about 5 more minutes and serve. Your family will gobble these up!

I know they were eaten pretty quickly at our BBQ the other night. :)

Marinara sauce
Heat oil in a pan to about 350-375 degs. Dip ravioli in egg wash (eggs mixed with a splash of milk, if you'd like) then in bread crumbs. Fry on each side until golden brown. If serving as an appetizer, keep warm on a baking rack in a warm oven, then serve with marinara sauce as a dipping sauce. If serving as a main dish, place a small amount of sauce in a baking dish, place all the ravioli's in the pan when fried. Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, pour some sauce over them and bake for about 10 minutes.

  10. Those look so yummy! A long time ago I used to be able to find already breaded ravioli in the freezer at Wal Mart and they were really good. But I haven't been able to find them in years. Guess I'll have to bread them myself *sigh*
