Myself, along with over 1,000 other bloggers, recently took a survey about our fiber intake recently. Here are the results!
- 30% thought they were getting the recommended Daily Value of fiber
- 60% said they struggled to get incorporate it into their diets
- 51% said they don't even think about trying to get fiber into their diets
- 21% said fiber is too hard to find in the foods they like
- 45% said they want their fiber to come with honey
I laughed at that last one. I'd rather my fiber come in the form of chocolate, as long as we're discussing this. :) I could probably find it.
Regardless, the average person usually only get 50% of what the Daily Value Recommendations. I would love to win these! I have been on a high fiber diet for a couple months now (doctors orders) and so these would really help with cost (fiber one is not cheap!). I try so hard to get at least 30 grams of fiber and most days I do great, but it is hard!

ReplyDeleteI am not really sure. I eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies so I hope so, but I guess I have not really ever figured it out. It is probably something I should do!

Fiber does come with chocolate if you get the Fiber One oat and chocolate granola bars, which are super delicious! In our family we've really tried to up our fiber intake by eating fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain cereals and breads. I love Fiber One products too!

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I don't. After breakfast (bran flakes usually) I tend to pretty much forget about even trying to get enough fiber.
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say that for my body, I get too much. I have a medical condition that forces me to be on a very low fiber diet. Thats harder to do than most folks think. Would love to win this though as my kids LOVE fiber one

ReplyDeleteWe are big fans of cereal with my son pointing out it's good for you, it has fiber, or essential vitamins, or whatever the box has to say on it. I don't keep track of fiber (or much of anything), we just try to get everyone fed every day. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I get enough fiber on most days. I usually eat a bag of popcorn every day so that helps with my fiber intake.

ReplyDeleteI think I'm pretty close now that I'm back on the Weight Watchers wagon again (whose plan increases the amount you can eat if you increase your fiber).
